Skyline Viviendas
I took a little golf cart ride with my husband to see the Skyline Country Club golf course and it was great to see the beautiful trees and gorgeous houses that line the course. The view of the Santa Catalina’s and the downtown Tucson skyline are dramatic. As we approached the Viviendas neighborhood where we live I got a couple of photos and came back and painted this watercolor in the studio. The Viviendas are an area of burnt adobe townhomes that are low-slung and scattered around the 5th and 6th fairways. This view is looking south on the 5th fairway to a cluster of Viviendas in the distance. This is Tucson living at it’s best!
This scene was first sketched in pencil and then painted on Arches CP 140# seven by ten inch watercolor paper with a limited palette. I added some carbon ink lines to key places for emphasis once paint was dry.
